This is why I'm a fan

Last night's game winning shot by Sundiata Gaines - an undrafted rookie on his second 10-day contract with the Jazz. This despite the fact that the Jazz shouldn't have been in the situation in the first place because of one of the biggest traveling no-calls I've seen in my life when LeBron stepped back to nail a 3 on the previous possession. Justice prevails (for once). If only this could have been the play to right the Jordan push-off wrong in the '98 finals.

Companies I have sworn off

I am now using this forum to vent a little bit about companies that I have sworn off for a variety of reasons. The first to receive this dubious distinction? Westinghouse.
Back in August 2007, we bit the bullet and for the first time in our lives actually spent money on a TV. We were all smiles as we unpacked the 40" LCD from the box. We enjoyed HD in all its glory for the first time. Fast forward to September of 2008 and 2 things happened: the internal DVD player stopped working and what can only be best explained as "pixel cancer." Upon calling customer service, they mentioned how it was just too bad that I was just outside my 1 year warranty and how there was nothing they could do. They told me that I might as well just replace the TV because of the cost it would be to get it fixed on my own. Since that time, the pixel cancer has spread and seems to have come to a stop (an example is included below).

For this reason, Westinghouse is company number 1 on my list of companies I have sworn off. Check back in the future for more companies I have banned myself from.

First Day Skiing

JT went skiing for the first time last week. He was a real trooper. It was a very cold day on the mountain (mid teens) yet he kept quoting Rizzo the rat's friends in "The Muppets Christmas Carol" by saying "heat wave!! This is my island in the sun!" it cracked me up every time he said it.

He's very proud to be a "skier" now because he knows it's something "big boys do." I had a blast with him and look forward to many more days on the slopes!
